A solid solution

Product description

Marlon Marine 2000 SC Rapid is a cement- based, plastic reinforced screed compound for levelling of all types of subfloor including making slopes in showers, galleys, etc. to be used in all types of dry and wet accommodation areas. For wet accommodation areas, prior to the application of e.g. tiles, the substrate must be treated with a water-resistant membrane (e.g. Marine Elastic 1000 Membrane). Before applying vinyl or carpet, it is recommended that a thin layer of self-levelling compound, such as Marine 900 SL, Marine 1600 SL or Marine 1800 SL is applied to level the floor. By normal condition (20°C/68°F and 80 % RH) Marlon Marine 2000 SC Rapid quickly attains a high surface strength and is walkable after 1 - 3 hours, depending on temperature. Final covering can be applied after approx. 24 hours. Note that the curing time depends on the substrate temperature and the ambient air

Product advantages

For marine and offshore installations of dry and wet accommodation areas before laying carpet, vinyl, tiles etc. and other high traffic areas - mainly foot traffic.

  • For most types of substrates
  • Rapid drying, fast setting
  • Easy to apply
  • Low shrinkage
  • High surface strength
Surface preparation

The shop-primed surface must be clean, free from dust, grease, oils and other substances, which may impair the adhesion. The whole shop-primed surface must be primed with Marlon Marine Primer F and after the drying of the primer, Marlon Marine 2000 SC Rapid can be applied.

Marlon Marine 2000 SC Rapid cannot be applied directly on zinc-rich shop-primed surfaces, aluminum or galvanized steel. In such case, please contact Marlon Marine.

Mixing process

Marlon Marine 2000 SC Rapid is mixed with cold fresh water to produce a workable screed mortar (amount of water, please see product specification).

Important

The applied Marlon Marine 2000 SC Rapid must not be exposed to freezing temperature, heat, sunlight and draft before being fully cured.
